Harry Dodson and Sam Coplon developed an award-winning plan for the renovation of this historic urban square in downtown Boston. Central elements of their proposal were subsequently incorporated in final plans for the restoration of the square, successfully completed in 1988. The plan featured extensive tree planting, creation of a central lawn, a water feature, performance area, exterior lighting, signage, a concession pavilion and interpretive features. The construction cost for the project was estimated at $2,644,200.
