Client: New Jersey Office of State Planning, Trenton, NJ.

As part of a state-wide effort to bring Smart Growth to New Jersey, Dodson Associates prepared nine detailed planning scenarios for the 2000 New Jersey State Plan. The scenarios recommend planning and design techniques to blend new development with the environmental and cultural character of the state. Scenario sites range from urban centers to rural farmland. Proposed development types range from city squares, transit-oriented development centers, rehabilitation of commercial highway strips and infilling of town centers. The 2000 New Jersey State Plan won the 2000 Planning Award from the Congress of the New Urbanism.
